Custom integration between ZOHO CRM and ZOHO Books

Zoho CRM is used by companies to streamline their sales, marketing, and customer support activities and Zoho Books helps them is managing core accounting tasks. All businesses are unique with their own process and business financial logic to create estimates, invoices, sales orders, purchase orders, etc. Though Zoho comes with native integration between Zoho CRM and Zoho Books, which allows you to sync different data like accounts, contacts, and estimates. But in most cases, this native integration doesn’t fulfill the customized need of clients according to their business requirements.

Let’s say you have a deal worth 1000 dollars, you won the deal but only want to create the invoice of 10% of the total amt of the deal. In such use cases, native integration of Zoho Books and Zoho CRM serves no purpose. For this, you have to do custom integration by creating workflows and writing custom deluge functions.

Within the Zoho ecosystem, you can do such custom integration in two ways –

1) Zoho flow– Zoho flow allows for automating business workflows by connecting different Zoho applications. Here we can integrate Zoho CRM and Zoho Books and then can design a flow to trigger different events like invoices, estimates, payments, sales orders, and purchase orders in Zoho books, and also we can control and specify conditions when to trigger these events.

2) Custom deluge functions– Zoho also allows you to do integration between Zoho CRM and Zoho books using deluge language. Deluge is a scripting language integrated with Zoho Services to perform custom actions. In this, we can write custom functions and define different criteria to create invoices, estimates, sales orders, etc.
